Mason's Hits Five

Only a few hours after Heidi and I returned from the Exile youth retreat, we threw a Kung Fu party for Mason's fifth birthday. Granny drove to Temple and kept the kids while we were gone and then stayed for the party.

Mason is into all kinds of martial arts and superhero things. In fact, today he received a custom cape that his Aunt Natalie made him with an "M" on it for Super Mason. He has been flying around the house ever since.

At the birthday party Heidi planned some activities for the kids that included "Dragon Warrior" Training by a real Kung Fu master, "The Noodle Dream" Prize Grab, and "Have a Dumpling" Chopstix Drills. To look at Mason, you would have thought he was in Kung Fu heaven. The Meyer family came with Cooper, Cutter and Cayden. We also had Scout, a friend from Mason's preschool.

Mason's cousins in California sent a supercool transformer and the cousins in Tennessee sent Mason on a shopping spree. Mason picked 5 things from the dollar bin at Target. Many others sent cards and gifts to demonstrate their love and we thank you all.

On his actual birthday we went as a family to his choice restaurant, McDonalds. After playing for an hour we were leaving when Mason said, "That was cooler than all the things that are cool."

happy Mason's birthday! I"m surprised you let him have a kung fu party, after knocking out Emma's tooth. Great pics.
